Director of Bands:

Mr. Marquestis "Mark"  Bullock

My name is Marquestis Bullock, and I am a graduate of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University where I studied Music Education and played the saxophone with the euphonium as a secondary instrument. As a performer, I was a semi-finalist as a soloist in the school's concerto competition, played in the Schwob Wind Ensemble, and multiple chamber groups, as well as sang baritone/bass in the University Singers and Choral Union. While at Columbus State I was involved as a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Prior to attending Columbus State, I attended Auburn University and marched in the 380-strong Auburn University Marching Band. A graduate of Northside High School, Columbus has always been my home, though work in the music industry has seen my work far beyond Georgia's borders in Michigan, Arizona, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, and Alabama. I am also a US Navy veteran.

Hardaway High School is my first full-time appointment as a Director of Bands, though I began work within the District some years ago. I joined the Hawks family in 2021. As the director, my goal is to teach attention to detail and commitment to the practice and rehearsal processes in order to produce a high-quality product for our audience members that each performer can be proud of. Beyond music, my goal is to raise students to be prepared for the working world through teamwork. Life is a classroom, and every experience lends the opportunity to learn a lesson!

Outside of academics, I enjoy traveling, cooking, motorsports, gymnastics, watching television, and petting my cat, Pyerre. I love finding new music to listen to and trying new foods!

About Coach Davis

Ieshia Davis is a 27-year-old native of Greenville, North Carolina. Since she was a “diva in diapers” she has had a love for all things performing arts. When she was two, her family moved to Leesburg, Georgia. Growing up she was involved in all things cheer, dance, and theater. Later, she became an active member of Lee County High School’s Marching Trojan Band. She was a member of the Color Guard all four years of high school and was the captain in both her junior and senior years. She was also actively involved in Theater (Thespian Troupe # 5297), Choir, Jazz Band, and Dance. After high school, she attended Columbus State University and majored in Early Childhood Education. Since CSU did not have a marching band, she continued her passion on her own. This will be Coach Davis’ third season coaching and choreographing for the Hardaway High School’s Spinnin’ Hawks. She is overjoyed to be back spinning with the Hawks and cannot wait to present the halftime show for you all: watch for the flying objects!
